Must be dependable, who have good judgment and decision-making skills, and who pay close attention to detail.
A high school or GED diploma is preferred.
Must be able to pass a security background investigation.
Must have clean driving record.
Must have a current commercial driver’s license (CDL) (CLASS A). (Licensed to operate a tractor/trailer of the size referenced here within the states of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia).
Minimum 1-3 years of experience
Pass preemployment drug testing and background check
Must have HAZMAT certification and able to maintain certification.
Must comply with requirements in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
Must maintain a positive attitude and neat appearance.
Check vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Maneuvering truck into loading or unloading positions and checking that the vehicle and loading equipment are properly position and tied down.
Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources and verifying instructions and routes.
Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
Properly securing cargo for transport to ensure load is secure.
Submit reports as required to JPLC project manager.
